The upper field and washrooms are booked. Access to the arenas is open to SRGEDC members, but please be aware that the area around the arenas will be being used for dog training. Dogs will be unleashed. We advise avoiding using the Rodeo Grounds during this event to ensure the safety of all concerned.
Clear Rounds Schooling
Clear Round Schooling Day
Come and jump around a course of stadium jumps in our main arena, in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere! All levels are welcome - lead rein to professional riders, trot poles to grand prix (well, maybe not quite that high ;-)). You tell us the height you want, and we’ll set the course as you wish.
We will book time slots, so you can come at your allocated time, warm up over a couple of jumps, then jump a round or two. Our volunteer ground crew will put up any knocked poles and raise/lower jumps as desired. Solo riders and groups are both welcome - we will assign time slots according to the number of riders in your group. Coaches are also welcome but not required.
Cost - $10 per rider/members, $15 per rider/non-members
To book a slot please email Hannah at hannah1001@hotmail.com with the following information:
Number of riders in your group and their names
Membership status for each rider and HCBC number for each rider
Height you would like to jump
Preferred time (we will try to accommodate preferences where possible but can’t guarantee this)
Payment via etransfer to summerlandrodeogroundsEDC@gmail.com with “Clear Rounds” and riders’ name(s) in the message.
We will email time slots a few days before the event.

Rodeo Grounds CLOSED for construction work
The Rodeo Grounds are closed to all while major construction work is completed. No access to any of the facilities (including the parking lot) to ensure the safety of everyone.

Private Event - Firefighter Training
Summerland Firefighters are training at the Rodeo Grounds and will be spraying water, including in the arenas. Please do not ride at the grounds during this time so we can allow for this important fire mitigation. Thank you!
Fun Day Fundraiser for Freedom's Gate Equine Rescue Charity
This will be a gymkhana-style fun day to raise funds for Freedom’s Gate Equine Rescue.

Private Event - SD67 Rail Trail XC Run
Private event - School District 67 Rail Trail Cross Country Run. Parking lot and washrooms booked. Arenas are open to members. Please be advised that there will be groups of children running on the trails in and around the Rodeo Grounds so caution is advised!
Private Event - Summerland Firefights & BC Wildfire
Summerland Firefights and BC Wildfire are training at the Rodeo Grounds and will be spraying water at the grounds, including in the arenas. Please do not ride at the grounds during this time so we can allow for this important fire mitigation. Thank you!
Private Event - Firefighters' Training (incl. sirens and flashing lights)
Firefighting training will be taking place in the grounds. Please note that hoses, sirens, and flashing lights will be in use. Riding in the vicinity not recommended during this time.
Gymkhana
Join us for a fun gymkhana. Registration details will be available in early 2025.
Dressage drop-in
Did you come to the % day yesterday and are now keen to work on the judge's feedback? Or maybe you have a competition coming up that you need to practice for (Vernon next weekend?). Perhaps you just want to expose your horse to an arena and practice your circles with no one watching! Well, members, you are in luck! We are going to leave the 20x60 dressage arena up in the main arena, complete with letters and flowers, for a week so members can haul in and practice.
Please do not move any of the markers.
(There is plenty of space to ride alongside the arena or in the warm up ring if dressage isn't your thing!).
Dressage Test Day
Join us for the first Dressage % Test Day of the season.
Ride your test and receive constructive and encouraging feedback from our judge, in addition to your ribbon! A great way to perfect your test for the start of the show season.

Annual Spring Clean Up
Please join us to help spruce up the rodeo grounds and get the place looking fabulous for the summer season!
Tasks will include weed whacking, nail/staple pulling, clubhouse cleaning, painting, and lots of raking!
Any help on the day would be very much appreciated! We all love the rodeo grounds so let's get it looking its best. Many hands make light work!

Private event - SIR ATV Training. Parking lot, washrooms, and flat field above the grounds are booked. The arenas are open to members, but please be aware that ATVs will be driving around the grounds.
